Different Trains Gallery, the brainchild of art lovers Sarah Garvin and Shawn Vinson, launched in Decatur in May 2017. The gallery shows paintings, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and photography, among other art forms.

The D’AIR Project
Established in 2007, The D’AIR Project is a not-for-profit community arts organization. D'AIR's mission is to weave the fabric of the greater Atlanta community together to serve and empower youth and teens through aerial dance, cultural arts and movement arts. The organization's programs include community classes in aerial dance and a variety of movement arts, student performances, community cultural events, and professional aerial dance productions.

DeKalb Choral Guild
DeKalb Choral Guild is a competitively auditioned community chorus led by a professional staff and supported in performance by professional vocalists and instrumentalists. Since its founding in 1978, the DeKalb Choral Guild has attracted talented choral musicians from throughout metropolitan Atlanta; its members possess diverse professional backgrounds, including public relations, medicine, sales and education. In its history, only two conductors - William O. Baker (1978-1992) and Mary Root (1992-2000) - have preceded the Guild's present conductor, Bryan F. Black. Such stability of musical direction has strengthened the Guild's presence as a community arts organization with a firm legacy of innovative and delightful programming.

Decatur Book Festival
The Decatur Book Festival is the largest independent book festival in the country and one of the five largest overall. Since its launch, more than 600 world-class authors and 190,000 festival-goers have crowded the historic downtown Decatur Square to enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children's area, live music, parades, cooking demonstrations, poetry slams, writing workshops and more.

Decatur Arts Alliance
Decatur Arts Alliance is a non-profit partnership of artists, business owners, residents and government dedicated to supporting and enhancing the arts in the city of Decatur. The Decatur Arts Alliance sponsors annual festivals as well as special art events and provides a collaborative environment to coordinate the interests of artists, gallery owners, theater groups, dance groups and performance venues within Decatur and to develop the city as a strong arts community. Key festivals the Decatur Arts Alliance sponsors and supports are the Decatur Arts Festival, Decatur Wine Festival, Oakhurst Arts & Music Festival and the Decatur Book Festival.

Dogwood City Art Gallery was created in 2012 as a place to give local and regional artists a voice. Dad’s Garage Theatre Company
Dad's Garage Theatre Company is a group of pretty cool, ever-charming, defiantly creative people who love putting on shows for people like you. Founded in 1995, the organization seeks to elevate the awareness of the arts through ensemble-driven comedy improvisation and original theatrical works. In addition to its outrageous original productions, Dad's Garage Theatre Company produces 52 weeks per year with improv shows every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Delta Flight Museum
The newly renovated Delta Flight Museum — a 68,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Delta’s Atlanta campus — takes flight with a grand opening in June 2014. The Museum offers an engaging experience where visitors from around the world can explore aviation history, celebrate the story and people of Delta and discover the future of flight. Attractions include an operational flight simulator previously used to train Delta pilots — the only full-motion flight simulator open to the public in the United States. The Museum also features historic aircraft and rare aviation items from Delta’s family tree of more than 40 airlines, including Chicago & Southern Air Lines, Northeast Airlines, Western Airlines, Pan Am and Northwest Airlines.

DeKalb Symphony Orchestra
Since the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra's founding in 1964, the Orchestra's schedule has grown to include at least 15 performances per year, including a subscription series of six performances, an annual Children's Concert, and outreach concerts in several venues in metropolitan Atlanta and beyond. Using a core of paid, professional musicians supplemented by a general membership of highly select unpaid players, the DeKalb Symphony is able to produce an impressive number of high-quality performances at a surprisingly modest cost. The DeKalb Symphony Orchestra presents concerts of traditional and contemporary symphonic repertoire, seeking both the highest possible level of artistic quality and the advancement of musical awareness and participation among its musicians and diverse audiences.

David J. Sencer CDC Museum
David J. Sencer CDC Museum, located at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's headquarters, is a Smithsonian Affiliate. The museum is an educational facility designed to teach about the CDC, public health and the benefits of prevention through innovative educational programs for students and teachers and award-winning permanent, temporary and traveling exhibits. The museum is open to the public, and no reservations are required.

The DeKalb History Center was initially established as the DeKalb Historical Society in 1947. It is the only organization dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing the rich history of DeKalb County. DHC is a membership-based non-profit organization that relies on contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations to support its mission.

Dunwoody Nature Center
The Dunwoody Nature Center welcomes nearly 25,000 visitors annually to its grounds. It strives to inspire the love of nature and cultivate environmental understanding and stewardship throughout the community by conserving and enhancing Dunwoody Park; educating children, families and adults of all ages about the natural world and humans' place in it; and motivating environmental awareness and responsible action.
