Description

Collaborating for the fourth time, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Music Director Robert Spano and glo founder and choreographer Lauri Stallings join forces to unveil Orfeo, a live staged opera in Symphony Hall. The cornerstone of the project is Christopher Willibald Gluck's 1762 opera, Orfeo, sited for the cavern like hall of the Atlanta Symphony. Stallings has constructed a map of tableaux vivant choreographies for seven glo moving artists, that will activate the stage throughout the opera.

Nightly, glo will begin Orfeo as a Campus Migration beginning at the High Museum of Art and across the Woodruff Arts Center lawn into Symphony Hall and onto the stage. The Orpheo collaboration is in tandem with Stallings choreographic mappings for Arsham's Hourglass exhibition at the High Museum of Art this spring.
