This two-day family program focuses on the appreciation and commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, also known as Juneteenth. Guests explore the themes of freedom and family history through talks, stories and museum theatre. In conjunction with the Atlanta History Center’s new exhibition Barbecue Nation, join renowned culinary historian and author Michael Twitty for the Juneteenth keynote address on Saturday, June 16, and barbecue cooking demonstrations on Sunday, June 17, and learn about the rich history of barbecue in America.

This is a free admission weekend at Atlanta History Center.
