Description

The Carlos Museum and Theater Emory present a live, three-day reading of Homer’s Iliad, a story of “raging anger and its human toll.” Over three days, 26 readers will perform all 24 books of the epic poem using Stanley Lombardo’s translation, which “pulses with all the power and luminosity of the Greek.”

Dr. Lombardo, professor emeritus of Classics at the University of Kansas, will open and close each day’s readings. Additional readers include some of Atlanta’s finest actors, Emory faculty and students, and local radio personalities.
