Dard Hunter, the founder of the Paper Museum, traveled extensively around the world to learn about hand papermaking. This exhibit features some of the artifacts gathered on his travels, providing insight into an important figure in the history of hand papermaking. Born in 1883, Hunter witnessed a global transformation in production of many goods, including paper. By the mid-1930s, he collected over 10,000 artifacts related to the history of paper and papermaking. In this exhibit, discover some of the gems of his collection.
