Description

Film Screening of Rebecca: Wednesday, June 21 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Referencing the 1940 Alfred Hitchcock movie, Rebecca (adapted from a Daphne du Maurier novel of the same name), Teresa Bramlette Reeves’ body of work visualizes the competitiveness, interdependence, and inadequacy that is so central to the narrative of the film. It is accompanied by a short video, which provides clues to understanding the psychological intentions invested in the simple, abstracted forms of the paintings. The movie was also one of Reeves’s mother’s favorites, and the two bonded over their admiration for the film.
