The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is pleased to present Chad Cole’s metro Atlanta debut solo exhibition, Travels and Transitions. Chad Cole is a South Carolina based artist who predominantly paints pastoral vistas that often contain barns taken over by nature, abandoned farmhouses, or dilapidated roadside oddities. Blending traditional artistic values with contemporary stylizing, Cole is inspired by his environment, passage of time, and his travels throughout Italy and the Deep South. Much artwork in this exhibition explores Cole’s chosen themes of the Southern Gothic and the concept of “The American Dream,” but he also conveys the impact that travel and gaining new perspective has had on his artistic and personal growth.
