Arnold Mesches was born in the Bronx, New York. He has had more than 140 solo exhibitions to date, including countless group shows, in a career spanning six decades. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the National Gallery, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, among others. He has been awarded a National Endowment for the Arts, a New York State Fellowship, a Florida State Fellowship, and three Pollack-Krasner Grants.
