For those families looking to not spend the remainder of Father’s Day weekend on long lines at Atlanta’s most popular brunch, lunch and dinner locales, here is a list of places to take the fathers and grandfathers in their lives.
How about a little free fishing
Fathers and fishing have gone hand-in-hand since the beginning of time, so what better way to spend Father’s Day then at the Davidson Arabia Mountain Nature Center. The center, located in Lithonia, will be offering their first free Fishing with Fathers excursion on Sunday, June 16 from 8-11 a.m.
Accompanied by a trio of park rangers, guests will be treated to lessons on freshwater fishing. There will also be refreshments served before taking off for the excursion. The center recommends that experienced fishermen bring their own gear as there will be a limited amount of fishing equipment available to rent.
Online registration is available at ArabiaRanger@gamil.com or by phone at 404-998-8384.
The Davidson Arabia Mountain Nature Center is located at 3787 Klondike Road.
Dads get in free at the College Football Hall of Fame
The College Football Hall of Fame is always a good way to spend time with the sports fan in your life but on Father’s Day the hall is offering a special deal for the fathers in your life.
On Sunday, June 16 there will be free admission for fathers with the purchase of a regular priced ticket. General admission tickets for adults are $21.99, kids (ages 3-12) tickets are $17.99 with children younger than three years old free.
The first 100 dads through the door on Sunday will receive a $25 Home Depot gift card. There will also be free Pampers Perfect chair massages available down on the indoor playing field from 10 a.m.-4 pm.
The College Football Hall of Fame is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta at 250 Marietta Street.
Take dad on a roller coaster ride at Six Flags Over Georgia
Dad might not be an amusement park guy but surely he recognizes good deal when he sees one.
Six Flags Over Georgia has a special ‘Bring a Friend Free’ ticket offer for Father’s Day. All 2019 members or 2019 season ticket holders can bring a father in free.
There will also be 25% off all purchases of $10 or more for all fathers.
Go see the Atlanta Braves while honoring cancer survivors
There can’t be a more dad-centric way to spend Father’s Day than at a ball game. On Sunday the Atlanta Braves will be home facing National League East rivals Philadelphia Phillies in the third of a three-game series.
Beginning with a 1:20 p.m. first-pitch, the game will include a tribute to Prostate Cancer survivors. There will also be a Freddie Freeman and Ozzie Albies height chart giveaway to the first 5,000 kids that make it into the park.
