It was dreamed up by native Atlantans

The pop-up was put together by Atlanta natives and husband-and-wife duo Walt Geer and Sarah Blackman. Greer is the CEO of PictureU. The company specializes in event photography, including mall displays for pictures with Santa or the Easter Bunny. This display takes that concept a step further.

“This is so much more than visual effects, lights, sound, or even a visit with Santa. We want Santa’s Fantastical to serve as the perfect setting for bringing people together, a place where labels are left at the door and imaginations can run wild,” Greer said in a statement.

There is plenty of space to explore

The display is housed in a former Babies ‘R’ Us, which spans more than 39,000 square feet. According to their website, the organizers say it takes most visitors between 1.5 and 2 hours to explore the space, but you’re welcome to stay longer. Each ticket is given a 30-minute reservation period when you can enter the space.

Also note, there are live performances to check out every 30-45 minutes on the main stage.

Come ready to have some seasonal treats

According to their website, Santa’s Fantastical has partnered with local food vendors to provide “fun and delicious seasonal snacks.” Everything at the snack bar is made fresh and pre-packaged so it’s easy to grab and go. Enjoy some hot chocolate or coffee while you explore. There is no outside food or drink allowed inside.

“Collaborating with local vendors and businesses is a big part of why we decided to kick off this interactive holiday experience in Atlanta,” Santa’s Fantastical co-founder Sarah Blackman said in a statement.

Food from DaVinci’s Donuts, Galla’s Pizza, King of Pops, Phoenix Roasters, MyBitterSweets and more will be available for purchase.
