What to Expect: Hear the sounds of multi-platinum, award-winning musician Michael Henderson at the City Winery. The vocalist and bassist has songs that include “Do It All” and “Be My Girl.”
When: Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: The Meadow at Piedmont Park
What to Expect: At the 7th Annual Atlanta World Kite Festival, the Meadow of Piedmont will the site for food trucks, face painting and live music. There will be a kite making contest, where handmade kites will be judged.
When: Oct. 26 to 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Griffin Auditorium, 234 East Taylor Street, Griffin
What to Expect: Watch ballerinas with the Griffin Ballet dance to the sounds of Michael Jackson this weekend. “With [the] sets, lighting, costumes and amazing choreography, this is a production that’s not to be missed!!” Mitch Flanders, artistic director for The Griffin Ballet Theatre, said on their website.

What to Expect: Filmmakers from around the world will be showing their films at this upcoming festival. Independent horror features and shorts from thrillers to gore will be shown.
When: Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
Where: Candler Park, 585 Candler Park Drive NE, Atlanta
What to Expect: A documentary about the life of Fred Rogers will be shown at 7:30 p.m. during this community-focused event. Before the screening, there will be a karaoke session.
When: Oct. 27 from 7 to 11 p.m.
Where: Vision Studios, 3875 Green Industrial Way, Chamblee
What to Expect: This Halloween themed art show will have live performances throughout the night. The party will start at 7 p.m. with a pregame with $1 beers. Food will also be on site.
When: Oct. 27 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Where: Fernbank Museum of Natural History, 767 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta
Cost: Included with museum admission
What to Expect: Pack your binoculars to scope out birds in the Fernbank Forest during their bird walk. An Atlanta Audubon Society volunteer will take visitors through the grounds.
When: Now through Nov. 4
Where: The Balzer Theater at Herren’s, 84 Luckie St., Atlanta
Cost: $20 to $50
What to Expect: This show puts a spotlight on the life of Jay “The Sport” Jackson, who wanted to be the first black heavyweight champion of the world. Take a look into how the boxing circuit was from 1905 to 1910.
