What To Expect At This Year’s A3C Festival & Conference

Hip-hop music and culture will be honored this week at the A3C Festival & Conference.

The happenings at “Hip-Hop’s Family Reunion” includes mixers, panels, workshops and sessions will take place around Atlanta from Oct. 3 to 7. On Saturday and Sunday, superstar hip-hop artists, such as Lil Wayne and Wu-Tang Clan, will take center stage during the festival portion of A3C.

We’ve compiled what you need to know before heading out to the A3C Festival & Conference.

This year, A3C is commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Wu-Tang Clan’s debut album “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).” All of the members of the hip-hop group will be participating in A3C’s festivities and will be headlining the festival’s concert on Oct. 6.

A3C is also having events that will celebrate Wu-Tang, such as the Wu-Tang Movie Takeover at The Plaza Theatre that has screenings of selected films at 9:30 p.m. every night until Oct. 5.

On Saturday, there will be a Wu-Tang Clan after party at the Deep End, 621 North Avenue NE a100, at 11 p.m.  A shop inspired by Wu-Tang Clan will is also open at the 36 Chambers Art Exhibit in the Gallery by Wish from Oct. 3 to 7.


The two-day festival will span this Saturday and Sunday at the GA Freight Depot, 65 M.L.K. Jr Dr SW.  On Saturday, J.I.D., Talib Kweli and the Wu-Tang Clan are some of the performers. On Sunday, Lil Wayne will be headlining, and Trina, Young MA and Mannie Fresh will also take the stage.

From Oct. 3 to 5, there will be conference sessions happening with five tracks, Artist Accelerator, Beatstars Summit, Labelx, Music Tech and Action Summit.

Some conference programming include the SHOOK Art Exhibition on Oct. 4 and a session on artist discovery on Oct. 5.
