Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre, Atlanta’s newest contemporary dance company, is back for their third major performance with “Next Door.”

TMBT co-founders John Welker and Rachel Van Buskirk told Lois Reitzes on “City Lights” that guest choreographer Daniel Agami has created a new work for the company that is a unique blend of ballet, modern and theatrical traditions.

According to TMBT, “Next Door” is Danielle Agami’s first evening-length creation with a company other than her own L.A. AteNine company. For Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre, this marks their first commissioned work by a guest choreographer and collaboration with an artist outside the city of Atlanta.

In this work, she dedicated her research to exploring the human with each of the cast members, according to TMBT.

“Next Door” premieres Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31, at Kennesaw State University’s Marietta Dance Theater.

“Danielle has a rare choreographic ability to show humor through the absurd, the levity is brought out and adds to the emotional depth of the movement,” said John Welker, TMBT dancer and director. Photo by Laura Morton.
