Kids Will Flip For These Atlanta Stage Shows For Young Audiences

Live theater shows are even more exciting for children when they feature their favorite animated characters, and there are several performances coming to Atlanta soon that will appeal to both the young and the young at heart.

Some shows take beloved characters from the screen to the stage. Others explore animals and environments that fascinate kids.

These upcoming Atlanta stage shows are designed specifically for children to enjoy:

Dinosaur!

When: Jan. 9 through Feb. 18

Where: Alliance Theatre

Tickets: $5 to $10

What to Expect: Designed especially for children under age 5, “Dinosaur!” is a gentle and awe-inspiring introduction to the wonders of the pre-historic world.

Darci Lynne and Friends Live

When: Jan. 13

Where: Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre

Tickets: $22 to $32

What to Expect: Darci Lynne Farmer is a 13-year old Oklahoma native who brings her hilarious puppets and vibrant personality to Atlanta after winning Season 12 of “America’s Got Talent.”

Rainforest Adventures

When: Jan. 23 through March 4

Where: Center for Puppetry Arts

Tickets: $11.25 to $19.50

What to Expect:Rainforest Adventures” is an up-close look at a day in the life of animals living in one of the most amazing, mysterious places on earth. Explorers of all ages will experience Brazilian-inspired music as they come face-to-face with more than 30 exotic plants and animals that inhabit the Amazonian ecosystem.

Beauty and the Beast

When: Feb. 8 through 11

Where: Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre

Tickets: $10 to $57

What to Expect: This dance interpretation of “Beauty and the Beast” performed by Atlanta Ballet’s second company is a one-hour production designed specifically children ages 12 and under.

Disney on Ice Presents The Wonderful World of Disney

When: Feb. 22 through 25

Where: Infinite Energy Center

Tickets: $15 to $95

What to Expect: Join Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on an inspiring walk down memory lane in “Disney on Ice. ” The Show includes appearances by characters from “Finding Dory,” “Frozen,” “Toy Story,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and more!

Disney Junior Dance Party On Tour

When: March 24

Where: Fox Theatre

Tickets: $32.50 to $52.50

What to Expect: Inspired by favorite Disney Junior series, this interactive concert tour includes songs from “Mickey and the Roadster Racers,” “Sofia the First,” “Elena of Avalor,” “Doc McStuffins,” and “The Lion Guard,” as well as newest hit series “Vampirina” and “Puppy Dog Pals.”
