The past few months have brought dozens of holiday-themed shows to the city, but it’s time to look ahead to what is coming in January.

THE LION KING
Perhaps the most anticipated Atlanta musical theater show is the return of off-Broadway production of “The Lion King.” It’s coming Jan. 10 through 28 to The Fox Theatre with its strutting giraffe puppets, colorful characters and memorable score.
Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill
Billie Holiday fans won’t want to miss this musical about the one of the singer’s final solo performances. The jazz music is unforgettable with songs like “God Bless the Child” and “Strange Fruit” in the show, which plays Jan. 11 through Feb. 4 at Theatrical Outfit.
Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical
Fans of iconic Hollywood will love “Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical” at Georgia Ensemble Theatre Jan. 11 through 28. Clooney’s unparalleled talent made her a Hollywood legend, and this musical pays tribute to her biggest hits and tells her compelling life story.
Menopause The Musical
This musical celebrates 14 years of comedy and empowerment with performances at Marietta’s Strand Theatre Jan. 16 through 21. Bring a friend and laugh along with the audience and those who are on the brink of, about to embark upon, or have survived “the change.”
In The Mood
This 1940s musical revue takes you back in time to when everyone was singing and dancing to the same kind of music. The show, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on Jan. 26, features the String of Pearls Orchestra and the In The Mood Singers & Dancers.
