Shop These 10 Atlanta Holiday Markets For Handmade Gifts, Decor

‘Tis the season for holiday shopping! During November and December many people set their sights on finding the perfect gifts for loved ones and friends. Others are looking to trim their tree and home with something new. Here in Metro Atlanta, local artists and crafters have plenty of gems ready for shoppers to add to their collection. Their unique, handmade items are readily available at pop-up markets all over the city.

Check out these Atlanta holiday markets happening this season:

HOLIDAYS AT THE HIGH ARTISAN MARKET (NOV. 24 AND 25)

Meet 16 local artists and designers, and shop for handmade gifts including jewelry, textiles, bath and body items, stationery, home accessories and food items at the High Museum of Art’s Artisan Market. Admission to the Museum Shop and Market is free, but to view exhibits or take part in special family programming for Thanksgiving weekend visitors must purchase a ticket to the Museum.

INDIE CRAFT EXPERIENCE: HOLIDAY POP-UP SHOP (CLOSES DEC. 23)

Visit Indie Craft Experience’s headquarters in Candler Park at the corner of McLendon and Oakdale Avenues for one of the largest pop-up craft markets in the city. This boutique of handcrafted gifts features items made by the more than 60 local and national artists. In addition to the main market, catch ICE around the city at its “Holiday Shopping Spectacular” at Georgia Freight Depot on Nov. 18 and 19, “Holiday Shopping Happy Hour” at Margaret Mitchell House on Thursday evenings Nov. 30 through Dec. 14, and a “Holiday Market” on Dec. 10 at Yaarab Temple.

CALLANWOLDE FINE ARTS CENTER: THE CALLANWOLDE ARTIST MARKET (NOV. 24 THROUGH DEC. 12)

The Callanwolde Artisan Market is open daily during Christmas at Callanwolde for visitors to shop for handmade gifts created by Callanwolde’s instructors and students. Items for sale include ornaments, jewelry, pottery, photographs and paintings. With a $25 general admission ticket required for entry ($20 if you buy in advance online), shoppers can also tour the 27,000-square-foot historic mansion elaborately decorated by Atlanta’s top interior and floral designers.

THE ART STATION – BIG SHANTY: GIFT BOX HOLIDAY MARKET (THROUGH DEC. 16)

Visit the Art Station – Big Shanty’s annual Gift Box Holiday Market in Kennesaw for beautiful artisan-made gifts by local artists and crafters. The whole gallery is decked out in festive holiday decorations to enjoy while you shop. The shop is in preview mode Nov. 2 through 17 with the full sale opening Nov. 27.

MABLE HOUSE ARTS CENTER: THE CHRISTMAS HOUSE ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW (DEC. 1 THROUGH DEC. 10)

The South Cobb Arts Alliance’s Christmas House Arts and Crafts Show is open daily at the Mable House Arts Center in Mableton. All of the items are handcrafted, from bath products to hand turned wood. In addition to shopping visitors can grab a bite to eat in Mable’s Tea Room and enjoy special events, including a Candy Cane Hunt on Dec. 2, a Mommy and Me Tea on Dec. 3, and a silent auction throughout the sale.

ATLANTIC STATION: CHRISTKINDL MARKET (NOV. 24 THROUGH DEC. 23)

Returning this year to Atlantic Station is the authentic German Christkindl Market in Central Park. This free outdoor holiday festival features a Christmas village of wooden booths selling imported German items as well as handmade Christmas ornaments and one-of-a-kind gift items. You can also visit Santa’s cottage and skate in the outdoor ice skating rink after shopping at Atlantic Station!

THE ART PLACE-MOUNTAIN VIEW: ARTIST ATTIC HOLIDAY SHOW AND SALE (CLOSES DEC. 14)

For this annual holiday show the gallery is packed with original ceramics, paintings, jewelry and more made by Art Place students, teachers and special guests. The Art Place-Mountain View is located in Marietta and is open Monday through Thursday.

SPRUILL CENTER FOR THE ARTS: HOLIDAY ARTISTS MARKET (NOV. 14 THROUGH DEC. 23)

This market in Dunwoody features works by more than 100 local artists with a wide variety of uniquely made artisan gifts and home décor. Items include ceramics, jewelry, art, paper, wood, fiber, toys and glass. The Holiday Artists Market is open daily. Special events include Cookies & Cocoa on Dec. 2 and the Handmade Gift Bazaar on Dec. 16. Last minute shoppers can also enjoy 20 percent off purchases made on Dec. 23, the last day of the sale.

ARTS CLAYTON: HOLIDAY POP-UP MARKET (CLOSES DEC. 22)

Jonesboro residents can enjoy Arts Clayton’s Holiday Pop-Up Market open Tuesday through Saturday. Shop fine art, ornaments, jewelry, turned wood, pottery and more.

PONCE CITY MARKET: WONDERROOT ARTIST AND MAKER MARKET (SELECT SUNDAYS)

The WonderRoot Artist and Maker Market at Ponce City Market connects Atlanta residents to Atlanta artists and makers. Join them at the Shed on the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail every Sunday in November from 12 to 3 p.m., and starting in December the sale moves to the first Sunday of each month from 12 to 6 p.m.
