Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron first introduced film audiences to “An American In Paris” in 1951. It was a story of love after war set to the music of George and Ira Gershwin in the City of Light.
Broadway Across America is now bringing the beloved musical to The Fox Theatre stage as the final show of the 2016/2017 season.
The Broadway musical follows the story of the Oscar-winning film. You’ll see World War II Army veteran Jerry Mulligan as he tries to become a famous painter, falls for a Parisian shop girl named Lise, and makes a new beginning for himself after the war.
The Gershwins’ soundtrack is showcased throughout the show with popular songs such as “I Got Rhythm,” “‘S Wonderful” and the title piece, “An American In Paris.”
